An Automated Rehabilitation device for Oral Cancer Patients
Seelen healthcare aims to develop a fully automated, highly precise, electromechanical jaw rehabilitation device for oral cancer/OSMF patients. OSMF is a trismus condition, which causes the mouth to remain tightly closed. It creates problems in eating, speech, oral hygiene,and could alter facial appearance of the person. Regular exercise has to be done to loosen the rigid jaw muscles otherwise the jaw become stiff and patient can lose swallowing and speech functions permanently. Proposed device gives very small precise movement continuously to he jaw muscles, making fibrous tissue pliable.
